The Kite-runner

Ambitions of my childish heart
Like kites in the wind, drift apart
No threads to bind them down to earth
Though it is their place of birth

"Let'em go! Fantasies they are!"
Sane minds preach. That's fair.
My well-tamed mind listens with care
But my insane heart just stares.

Confusion? Yes! Solutions? No!!
Kites need threads, I know.
And someone to hold them tight
When the winds are harsh in flight

That's who he is, I realize now,
Who binds my kites with threads of love
Lets them fly, as he holds the threads.
The happiness glows in a tear he sheds...
