A Trip to the Beach and Beyond

A traveler laid dying on a pebbled beach
as the pebbles rolled down with the waves
weaving a harmony of unearthly nodes
as if to bid farewell to a passing soul

The sky was sketched in fractal art
Every way she looked, she saw a star
The sound of her time slowly ticking away
Gave birth to a desire to stay at the bay

The desire turned into a trembling fear
of the unknown that awaits beyond this sphere
So she turned inward to her wiser self
to find what she holds at this verge of life

Her life flashed before her eyes so fast;
The rivers, the mountains and the lands of grass
the beasts, the men, the devils, and the gods
mended the bridge for her spirit to cross

Her dying self became the traveler she was;
inquisitive, thirsty, with a nag to explore
Bidding farewell to the life held on,
She fell in love with what lies beyond.
